CASHIERS! SALESPEOPLE! WAREHOUSE WORKERS!
EcoBuilding Bargains is the largest used building materials store in New England. Our mission is to keep thousands of tons of trash out of landfills by making salvaged building materials, furnishings and appliances available to people looking for quality bargains. We keep growing and need some dedicated, hard-working, and enthusiastic people to join our team.
We often have openings for a different positions. Store hours are 9-5:00 (9-6:00 after Memorial Day) 7-days per week. All employees work either Saturday or Sunday.
Warehouse Worker: If you are working in the warehouse, you will help unload and load our truck, sort the materials as they come in, get our inventory cleaned and ready to be sold, and bring our unique materials out to the sales floor. On some days you will also need to go on the truck to assist with pickups or deliveries. [Truck duty has an earlier start, usually at 6 AM.)
Cashier: If you are a cashier, you will greet customers, ring them up, and handle cash and credit card transactions. You will also assist in pricing, stocking and displaying inventory; and help customers load their vehicles.
Salesperson: If you are a retail salesperson, you are familiar with building materials and have the ability to help people solve their home improvement or building needs with our unique mix of inventory. You are a creative problem-solver, a friendly, good listener, and know how to close the sale.
To work at EcoBuilding Bargains, you must be excited about working around used and surplus materials including cabinets, architectural salvage, building materials, doors, windows, appliances, plumbing supplies, lighting fixtures, and furniture. Regardless of the position, you need to be great communicators in case they are helping our customers find the solutions they need for their home improvement projects. You should be hard working, motivated, and reliable and have excellent communication skills. High School diploma/GED required. Bilingual English/Spanish is very helpful. You must be able to lift 25-50 pounds regularly and move freely (including twisting, bending, kneeling, squatting, etc.) to perform job duties.
